New Stuff???
Yes this is a book review, I have decided that i need to expand my horizons a little bit and include books and maybe even a couple of movies. I have not been on in a while and i think that I have learned a bit in how to write in general and if anyone thinks that I am writing better now please let me know.
Immanuel's Veins by Ted Dekker
Immanuel's veins by Ted Dekker
"This Story is Meant for Everyone, but not Everyone is Meant for this Story"
What would it be like if this thing that could satisfy our mortal bodies was a sip of blood? Blood, Christ's blood covers our sins and renews us but what does the blood of evil contain? Blood takes on new meaning in Ted Dekker's newest masterpiece "Immanuel's Veins". Toma Nicolescu comes to protect the the Cantemir Estate but is confronted by a great evil. This story is about an ultimate sacrifice and a beautiful poem of how Christ wants to woo each and every person on the Earth.
In order not to make this book sound really weird to even strong Christian believers, you need to read the book. The book will sound strange and unorthodox and to people who have not heard much about some strong symbolism in the blood of Christ, you will find the book dark and maybe even repulsive.
To believe is one thing, to partake is another. When you accept God and take communion you "partake" of the flesh of communion. What happens when you literally partake of the blood of demons that have weaseled their way into the mortal world? How about you do not die when you get shot in the head, you are extremely fast, your senses for pleasure become enhanced thousand-fold and you live for several thousand years. Toma must face this evil and rescue Lucine, the love of his life, from this evil devil-spawn and save her from intense pleasure until she dies and has eternal torment.
"I do not want to gain the whole would but lose my soul" sound familiar?
The story will sound bad I know, and the "This Story is Meant for Everyone, but not Everyone is Meant for this Story" is 110% true. If you are a feel good Christian then you may find you life revolutionized or you may find this book horrible. Great read and I would recommend it highly.
Caution though, vampires are basically what the demon spawn are. They can only be killed with the wood stake through the heart and holy water burns their skin etc. Garlic though is not a part of it. Vampires do not need to be a part of Ted Dekker books. 9/10
BTW:
If you comment on this post I will enter you into a drawing for a free Immanuel's veins T-shirt

The Game
The game starts out with a cinematic that has a guy ranting in the background about "The Vault" and how this "Vault" will get anyone that finds it gets fame, power, money etc. A fat guy in a bus drives past a sign that says "Pandora" the planet you are on. He runs over a "skag," a dog like thing that eats everything (including you) and throws up "skag piles," piles that contain things like ammunition, guns, random items used in missions. The guy in the bus starts talking to four figures in the back of the bus you choose one of these people for your character in the game. The first is the Sniper, a thin guy with a mask and a sword on his back and likes to kill with sniper rifles and revolvers, his little "Bloodwing" is his special and it flies about killing people. The Siren is the only female in the group, she looks pitifully tiny but and as the driver says "why don't you bake a cake for us" she turns invisible, the sirens "Phasewalk" makes her disappear with an explosion and return with an explosion, she likes weapons that do elemental damage. The Soldier is the basic all around guy with a "Scorpio" turret, he likes most guns and gets pretty good damage for his turret and it will support any one that is near it while active. The "Brick" is a huge guy, he even dwarfs the soldier, his special is "Berserk" he puts away an equipped gun, punches his fists together and starts screaming and runs up to enemies and punches them until they die. Brick likes guns that explode pure and simple.
Positive
Guns, there is so many of them that you could not write them all down, no matter how much time there is, *there must be a random gun generator in the game that will randomize the damage, accuracy, fire rate and specials*. The game is based upon a level system starting at level one and ending at level 50. With Each level you can level up your action skill (Bloodwing, Phasewalk etc.).The storyline is very good, you have this girl "hologram" in the top left corner of your screen that talks to you throughout the entire thing leading you to the Vault. There are "Claptraps" throughout the game that you have to rescue to get more inventory slots and many assortments of bosses that you have to kill to reach the Vault.
Negative
There is some cussing in the game, mostly the biggest thing is that there are the copious amounts of blood that spray the walls along with heads an limbs that fly off bodies. There is many disturbing images of this sort so it is up to your judgment to decide if this game is worth it.
Conclusion
I think that this game is worth playing, the blood is something that you have to decide if you do not want to look at. 9/10

Final Fantasy 1
Made by: SquareSoft
PSP, NES, Wii, PlayStation
Role-Playing > Console-style RPG

The Game
The land is wrought with darkness, monsters prey upon travelers, danger is even entering the towns of the land. Then a group of four warriors appear bearing crystals of light to fulfill the prophecy: "When darkness veils the earth, four Warriors of Light shall come..." These four warriors are about to embark on a perilous quest wrought with danger.
These four warriors are a cute little person that you can name and choose a class. each of the classes have good things and bad things about them: The Warrior is a very diverse member, he can use all but a few weapons and will generally pound enemies moderately well and has the more life than any other character. The Warrior will turn into the Knight who does the same things but adds in more hits and can use up to lv. 4 white magic. The Thief is very fast and can hit enemies quite a few times, he is not as powerful as Warrior/Knight but when it turns into a Ninja it can use up to lv. 4 black magic and hits a lot of times. The Monk at first may seem pointless because he cannot use much armor, only has one type of weapon (nunchuks) and may have a pretty good amount of life but that life gets wasted fast, but as soon as he reaches about lv. 15 his nunchucks become obsolete and his fists become the most powerful weapon in the game, even more powerful than the best sword in the game that goes to your Knight. The Monk will become the Master and the only differnce is that instead of doing about six to eight hits he will do eight to twelve hits. The White Mage is a caster unit that can cast white magic, white magic is support magic that can heal your party, raise defense, hurt undead, revive a K.O member etc. This mage is not essential but is very useful to any party, she will turn into the a White Wizard, who has more MP(magic points) and can use White Wizard spells. The Black Mage uses magics that damage their foes and raises the attack of the party, lowers enemy attack etc. The Black Mage is the weakest of the entire party when it comes to normal damage and life, while every one else has been hitting a hundred damage the Black Mage is only hitting about 10 to 30 damage, but what makes up for this is the fact that his spells hit <500. When he turns in to a Black Wizard his most powerful weapon become equipable giving him about >200 damage. The final unit is the Red Mage, he can cast both white and black magic and gets pretty descent attack due to the fact that nearly all swords are open to him for use. He is limited though, even when he becomes a Red Wizard his black/white spells are not as good as the other two mages.
Positives
This games story line is amazing, its plots, badguys and bosses are enough to get anyone that wants a good turn based RPG to fall in love immediately. There is many enemies that will randomlly attack you, most look the same just have a different color to them and different attack or weaknesses etc. The bosses are everything someone would want in a game except for the fact that their attacks are flash then damage dealt to one of your men. There huge amounts of weapons and armor in the game, most go to the Warrior/Knight and most of the rest go to the Ninja and Red Wizard.
Negatives
Some of the enemies bear names that have the word "demon" along with other people may consider bad like skeletons, goblins etc. Most of the places that you do you are attacked non stop so it begins to get annoying esp. when you are a higher level than them. The map is very large so it gets confusing until you get used to it.
Conclusion
This game is worth the effort to play, the game gets really fun as soon as you get your ship so its good to push to that goal. I would recommend using a walkthrough for the game because some of the dungeons are very hard.

Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade
Made by: Sony Online Entertainment

The Game
Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is a story about a young warrior who recently was declared champion to the city of Aven, the guardian charged with protecting the Crown and the Aven. The only problem about this title is that for a long time it has been a empty title, those that had it bestowed upon them spent the their Queen's term drinking and growing fat. Then, the day after the crown has been bestowed, an evil strikes at the great city of Aven. Danger assaults the city from all angles, deadly beasts and mighty warlords attack, with the city's defenders stretched thin, only one can do the key strikes into the heart of the enemy's camps and strongholds: the Champion of Aven.
Positives
There is hundreds of weapons each with individual power, there is also many sets of armor that you can use along with amulets and rings to increase abilities. There are four classes of characters that you can choose in the beginning: 1. An Alchemist uses powerful magics to kill her enemies and is good with smaller weapons. 2. The Knight is the character that uses a wide variety of weapons with finis and style, he uses also has more effective armors. 3. The Druid also has magics like the alchemist but they are more supportive than offensive, he is the archer of the classes and is also is good with blunt weapons. 4. Last but not least is the Berserker who attacks the enemies with a savage ferocity with little regards to her personal safety. She uses small claws, throwing knifes has less armor than other classes but more life. Each class has different strengths and weaknesses that make them so different from each other that you have to play it just to see the different weapons, armor and abilities. Each class also has a "tech tree" of abilities that they can master as they level up.
Negatives
There is still negatives to the class diversity, because of there not only being limited armor to each class, certain weapons are unable to be used by all of the classes (exe. Beserkers cannot use bows) This limitation though only goes so far, it is easily over looked for some people. Several things that people should know about Untold Legends are first that the Beserker class features a scantily clad female doing flips and tearing enemies apart, second, the powers that the Druid and Alchemist have are most definitely "spells." Some people may find this to be uncomfortable. The last is that there are certain enemies (it does not name many of them so no facts a definite) that may be ghosts, sirens etc. These may make some people feel uncomfortable about this game.
Conclusion
Positives in the game make it well worth playing several times, along with the swords, armor etc. The story line is intriguing. There are some bad parts to the Game but over is a definite play for anyone that like RPG's
