Super Mario Galexy/ Wii

Genre:Third Person Adventure
The game
You open on as always, Mario going to see Princess Peach at her Castle. Like always the seems like its going to be a prefect day; and like always, Bowser comes and kidnapped Peach(She really needs like some sorta teleporter or something so that Mario will not need to protect her). You try to save her but one of Bowser's Magicians blasts you away. Mario wakes up on a planet that is about the size of a two story house, now it is kinda weird but throughout the entire game they are playing with gravity so that you are more often on the walls and roof than not. Mario sees a little bunny with stars on the tips of its ears and the bunny tells you to follow it. It'll tell you some of the controls some of which you already discovered and then you have to play "hide and go seek" with him and two other bunnies. When you find them they take you to Roselina who is the watcher of the "Comet Observatory" Then she gives you a Luma who one of those bunny's we saw earlier turned a little fat star shape who gives you the power to spin. Now spinning is the most important control you do throughout the entire game; you it to launch to other planets with launch stars, spin to kill/stun enemies, lastly you use it after you do a jump to get a little bit higher. The way you get to levels after you get to the Comet Observatory is there are domes and in each dome there are about 4-5 galaxies and in each galaxy there are a number of planets.

The good
The game is very fun and if you like Mario or adventure games this is very cool game. The way that the worlds are set up, there is some confusion in the beginning of the game as far as run around on the planets but the game is good other than that.

The bad
There is not much wrong with the game except the last couple of levels are almost impossible.

Conclusion
This is a great game though I would recommend that you do not try to beat Bowser at the center of the universe until you have collected all of the stars, if you do you will lose interest in the game.8/10

Dynasty Warriors 5/ X-box/PS2

Genre:Third Person Action Strategy
The Game

Dynasty Warriors 5 is a 3rd person game that takes place during the time when ancient China, the current dynasty is the Han dynasty and every one of the people of the land is seeing the Han dynasty come to an end. The land was falling into chaos with three kingdoms rising above the rest. They are Wei, Wu and Shu. You are able to choose from a number of characters and when you complete the story for certain characters you will unlock new characters. The game is played were you are basically a god because of your attacks and your life bar. The game is very simple when it comes to controls and playing styles may very from person to person, some people may play from going from one of objective to an other while some may just kill as many enemies as possible and some people will just head to the enemy commander and kill him and end the game.

The good
The game is one that if you like to play a game that takes almost no brain power to play, this is the game for you. The whole game play is different from usual games. There is a wide diversity of weapons and items which makes the game more fun.

The bad
There is not much to say about it unless your parents are concerned with you killing on average 300-500 computer bots a level.

Conclusion
The game is still my most favorite game and whenever I am done playing another game this is the game I come to play because of how much fun you can have with it.10/10

Zelda : Twilight Princess/Wii

The game
The game opens up on a man calling to Link (who as in all Zelda games, is the main character) tell him that he needs to get his horse named Epona and help him herd his goats into his barn. Epona happens to be missing so you have to go look for her. She is in a place where there is very pretty waterfall thing. There is a girl there but it does not mention her name until later, you take Epona back and you herd the man's goats and the day ends. You go through a series one of them is you get a wooden sword, slingshot, bottle and fishing rod. Epona gets hurt and the same girl gets angry at you because you were not taking care of Epona. this happens at the waterfall and then completely unexpected she is kidnapped and you are knocked out. You end up turning into a wolf in "The Land of Twilight." Some sort of beast thing kidnaps you and you end up in dungeon and a little two foot thing helps you escape and you learn more from Zelda, the princess of Hyrule. Then you go on an adventure to save all of Hyrule from eternal twilight.

The good
Like Ocarina of Time, there is a wide diversity of weapons and items which some of them are the same as Ocarina of Time there is different name and there is also new armor and weapons. The story line is very well thought up and it is so cool how they are able to use the same characters and still have a unique story line. Zelda games almost have there own genre.

The bad
There is like I said with Ocarina of Time, there is negative element as far as gods and spirits and even though it has good game play there are some lousy graphics.

Conclusion
Over all one of the best games, but if anything should discomfort you you should either stop playing or talk to your parents about how they feel about the game.9/10

Oddworld: Strangers Wrath/X-box

The game
The game opens up on a graveyard were you see a creature call a Bolamight(it looks like a spider with a swollen abdomen) all of the sudden get hit by a rock. It falls to the ground and a Fuzzle (imagine a brown fuzz ball with teeth and will eat anything) goes up to it sniffs it and is about to eat it when another rock hits the Fuzzle and a hand grabs them both and puts the in a bag. Then you see a silhouette of someone put a couple more Fuzzles near a hole and the later it shows a big fat monster thing chasing the “Stranger” that is the main character in the game. It turns out that the monster is “an’ outlaw” and stranger is a bounty hunter who uses live ammo to fight enemies. The live ammo is a very neat thing to the game and the EGM magazine has it among the top 10 coolest ammo for games. Some of them are Boombats (the grenade launcher), Stuntz (the stun gun) and Fuzzles (the “traps that are alive”).

The good
The game is a very well made and there is a story line that even though it is guessable is still funny and exciting. The ammo is one of the most fun thing in the game, about at the halfway point all off your ammo become upgraded and that were it gets fun to kill the bad guys and use them for “ammo chow” which is a thing that you use to capture outlaws and then “Secto’s Military force.”

The bad
It takes a long time to load after you die and on the last level it takes about three hits to kill you but other than that the game is great.

Conclusion
The game is a great, it is colorful and the choice of word is funny at the right moment. It is great for teens and there is not much else. 9/10

Star Wars: Battlefront 2/X-box

The game
The game is a 3rd person shooter/1st person shooter were you have to capture you enemy command post on a map. There are 4-6 command posts on the map and you have to capture them by standing next to it. there is a amount of reinforcements that you use up when ever you or one of your units die; when you use up your reinforcements you will lose the battle, the amount of command posts you have also affect your reinforcements. There is Five modes you can play after you select the single player option, Training, Space Overview, Rise of the Empire, Galactic Conquest and Instant Action. Space Overview is a short clip about how to fight in space. Rise of the Empire is the campaign game were you fight with the 181st legion against Battle Droids and then against Rebels. Instant Action is were you can go to choose your own map with play style of your choosing and era(Clone Wars or Galactic Civil War).

The good
The soldier classes are as follows, Trooper(blaster rifle, pistol), Heavy(rocket launcher, mines, pistol), Sharpshooter(sniper rifle, mini turret), Engineer( shotgun, detonation packs,heal/ammo packs) . There is also some special troopers like the Clone Jet Pack trooper and Destroyer Droids. The game Has a multiple choose of maps and four different forces that you can be Rebels, The Empire, The Clones and The Confederacy. The weapons are fine and movement is all you want from a game like this.

The bad
There is only some slightly bad background graphics and not much else.

Conclusion
The game is a game that if you do not like Star Wars you will find it fine and if you like star wars it is another story line that you will find interesting. 8/10

Zelda:Ocarina of Time/Wii/Gamecube/Nintendo 64

The game

The game opens up on like almost all games with a cutscene about how Hyrule is in danger from Ganondorf and how Navi a fairy must find the boy without the fairy to come to him where he will save Hyrule. The boy has to get 3 spiritual stones and play the ocarina of Time at the temple of time were he turns into an adult and must find the eight sages so he can get their medallions and kill Ganondorf to get back the token to unlimited power called the Triforce at the same time he learns more and more of his past and how his future might turn out.

The good

The weapon variety is so amazing, slingshots, bows, war hammers and things like that. The storyline is great with plenty of suspense and it is almost impossible to guess what new rooms and halls and fields will hold for you to do and fight enemies that are hard but are still beatable. The puzzles in rooms are challenging and not always obvious. Because the only word you hear is "listen" there is pretty much no cussing. Most of the dialog is written at the bottom of the screen.

The bad

As you may have already assumed, the spirits and sages and Triforce do give a negative element. Along with that there is a spirit bad guy called a "Po"that is a dead person. the weapon movement is crummy as far as swinging your sword (over, left, right, over, etc.) and the controls are adequate enough.

Conclusion

The game is a constant battle between good and evil and I think that I is ok as far as you have your parent's permission. 7/10
