Fable: The Lost Chapters

Made by Lionhead Studios
PC, Mac, X-box, X-box 360
Role-Playing > Action RPG
Rated: M
The Game
Fable is about a boy who sees his entire village destroyed by bandits and his sister killed in front of his eyes, after the village is destroyed, he goes into the village and meets a fighter of the Hero's Guild called Mage, he takes you to the Hero's killed to be trained as a Hero, the legendary fighters of the land. While you are there, you meet Whisper another Hero in training; you have a sort of competition friendship. You learn at the guild the art of sword craft, how to use a bow and the power of the Will. You then become a Hero. All of your character's decisions in the game decide your next one and how this person will talk to you and which quests you will get and how much you level up. If you walk down the path of evil your appearance will change into a dark hair scar faced man who every one runs from or you can be good and you can become a fair and noble person who every one loves and adores, you can become a great warrior or a skilled archer or a user of the Will with great power; you can become a simple trader or a rich merchant; you can be a hero of great renown or a fat drunkard who pukes on the floor. (I am sounding like a commercial)

The Good
There is a good amount of choices you can make that will affect you. A good amount of weapons and Will powers and a whole lot of armor and clothing. Oh yea, you can kick chickens about 20 feet. You can also eat baby chickens( it gives you bad points though).

The Bad
For starters there is definitely a very bad element to the game, for starters there is a whore house and you can kill everything that that moves, you can even kill an entire village. You can change you sex to female just by putting on girl clothes and using the flirt expression on guy NPC's. There is something called Demon gate also. The is hundreds of negative elements that puts this game way past the M rating.

Opinion
I played this game for a long time before I noticed any of this stuff. You need to take some time on every game to make sure that there is no element like in this game. I admit that I kept on playing the game even after some of this stuff. This is not a game that anyone should be playing, period.

Conclusion
DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME.
Preview all M rated games before you play them. This is a good game but there are too many negative elements. 3/10

Portal

Mady By Valve
PC
First-Person > Action > Shooter > Sci-Fi
Rated: T
The game

Portal is a first person shooter that your only gun shoots portals from one place to another, you shoot a orange portal on the ceiling and shoot a blue portal on the wall (there is only orange and blue) and you jump through the blue you come out the orange. This system opens a new style of playing games, on some games you sometimes feel as though you are trapped in this hole and there is no way to get out. Portal removes that feeling and replaces it with a feeling of power and control that all other games remove, you need to get up on that balcony you can get there so easy. There is kinda a half-way story line, You wake up in a room with no exit (if you play it will be confusing at first), and a female voice starts talking to you about passing the some tests and how at the end there will be cake. You move through the tests and you learn many different things about the portal gun, then at the end you hop on a moving platform and you see yourself heading strait for a lava filled room...you then escape and start heading; following some arrows on the wall, written in blood, to the AI mind of the female voice.

The Good
A good puzzle game, it is a first person shooter so some people might get dizzy by the falling and jumping and coming out of walls a ceilings. The game is in some parts extremely comical, like right after you escape from falling in the lava the voice says "Haha, for a second there you thought that I was going to kill you, it was just a test"(She puts a lot of infuses on the cake)"now lay down on your stomach and put your hands behind your head." Later she says "remember when I tried to kill you? Someday we will look back and say 'haha.'"

The Bad
The blood writing on the wall is it.

Opinion
This is one of my most favorite games ever.

Conclusion
Good game, there will be a sequel. If you buy the game I recommend buing it in whats called the Orange Box, It includes Portal, Half Life 2 , and Team Fortress 2. 9/10

Quake Wars: Enemy Territory

PC/PS3/ Xbox 360
First-Person / Action / Shooter / Sci-Fi
Rated: T
The Game
The story line is that that the Strogg army has located Earth an plans to use its populous for "Human Food." The Strogg have been going through the galaxy and have using the meat of their last victims for food on their next planet invasion. The GDF (Global Defense Forces) is there to stop them. For starters this game is another game were it is set up in a battle field where you can capture spawn points, Quake Wars Though has a different spin on the usual Capture the enemy base games, there is only a little bit of that and they added in a assault type of element. You go from objective to objective Blowing things up, Hacking in to them or "Driving the MCP to the outpost so you can launch a SSM missile." It is complicated until you get to know the maps very well.

The good
There is a wide divercity of classes for the GDF and Strogg and you can unlock more weapons, faster reload, more ammo and all of the other stuff, there is huge maps that you can play in single player or online and each of the levels can be about 45 min. to 10 min. average online. There is quite a few veicles. There is no cussing on NPUs though there may be some from other people that are playing online.

The bad
Like I said there will be some cussing and rude things and if your parents are uncomfortable with fighting and shooting other people stay away! (the entire game is shooting other people)

Opinion
(New section)
I have a thing for first person shooters and Assult bassed games so some people will disagree with me.

Conclusion
A fun but fast paced game, you need a first person shooter, you got one of the best.
8/10

LEGO Batman Wii/Nintendo DS/PS2/PS3/PSP/X-Box 360

Genre: Third Person Lego Adventure Game
The Game
Like all Lego games, LEGO Batman is cute and "cartoony." Also, like all Lego games, pieces are literally flying everywhere. The game story line is that ALL of the villains from Arkham Asylum escape into the city and begin to create havoc in Gotham. There is six chapters in which three you fight as Batman and Robin and the other three you fight as the Villains. There is quite a few suits in the game for Batman and Robin which allows you to travel through the levels. e.x. Batman has a glide suit (allows you to glide to another ledge) and a demolitions suit (blows things up with mines). There is a bunch of differnt enemys you can fight from the Riddler's henchman as batman to S.W.A.T  as the villains.

The good
There is a bunch of cute graphics and funny cut scenes throughout the game. There is things you can blow up and build and all the other things you can do in a LEGO game.

The bad
Unless you parents don't like LEGO pieces flying everywhere, this game would be a great pastime.

Conclusion
A good game tough there is not alot to say about it accept really if you want to play LEGO games there is not much difference between one and another. Game 9/10 Originality 4/10

Knights of the Old Republic X-box/ X-box 360/ PC

Genre: Third Person Role-Playing Game
The game
(I like Star Wars and Star Wars games, so there will be some people who disagree with my views on this Star Wars game.) Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is fun and entertaining, if you plan on playing it I would recommend having at least two hours to start. The story is about ( your character's name here) who is a soldier on a ship called the Endar Spire, a ship that is right now, under attack from the Sith forces of Darth Malek. Just before you wake up it shows you having dreams about your commander Jedi aboard named Bastila fighting a Dark Jedi (there is a difference in between Sith and dark Jedi, there can be only two Sith a master and a apprentice and there can be as many dark Jedi that are willing to follow). You are then greeted by a man who tells you where you are and things like that. You set out to find Bastila and on the way to the bridge you learn to fight, attack and how your stats and log work. As you reach the bridge you find no Bastila so you head to the escape pods, along the way a door open and there is a Dark Jedi on the other side of it. Your friend tells you to head to the escape pods and he'll hold him off (poor guy doesn't have a chance) until you can escape. You get to the escape pods where you meet Carth, one of the main characters in the game. After you meet him you leave the Endar Spire just as it blows up. You crash land on the planet Taris where you begin your search for Bastila.

The good
This game has the uniqueness of being somewhere in between Final Fantasy and any third person shooter games, when you encounter a enemy the game freezes and allows you to choose the way you want to attack, you then unpause the game and your character does what you told him to do, you can also take control of the people in your party and have them do what you want. You only control your character like this in battles and for the rest of the game you are walking around as you would in a third person shooter. There is a large amount of weapons including lightsabers, grenade, blaster pistols and rifles. Throughout the game you can get a bunch of different characters to play with each with their own strengths. The story line is very cool and you get to be a Jedi which is also very cool.

The bad
There is the negative element of being able to turn to the dark side in the game, for example someone asks you to find their droid/friend/kid and you can either say "sure"or "buzz off," if you say the latter you will gain dark side points and the more you do this the more it will affect your characters during the game. There is a small amount of cussing during the game and not much else.

Conclusion
A game that if you do play you will want to play several times in order to see the different actions you could take in the game. The thing I would say would be is at least tell you parents about all the things in it that even remotely make you uncomfortable. Very well designed game. 9/10

Half Life 2 X-box/PC/X-box 360/ PS3

  Genre:First Person Shooter
The game
Half Life 2 is a first person shooter, the story line is about a man named Gordon Freeman who worked at Black Mesa Federal Research Facility. He wore a protective suit to protect him from the toxic waste he worked in, something goes wrong and he had to fight his way through aliens. In the end he was given a choice of weather you should go through this portal or follow the G-man, that ends Half Life 1 and Half Life 2 starts you heading through security of a very large city were you can tell immediately that in the city there is a dictator who, if he does not get his way, or you speak out against him you will be killed. At a security checkpoint one of the guards stop you. For some reason you have a feeling that you are against this dictator and that this guard will identify you and stop you. He takes you to a back room and then he identifies himself that he is part of the resistance and he tells you to make you way to a new transportation system so that they can teleport you to the main base for the resistance and as always something goes wrong and you have to go the long way to the base.

The good
The game is fun and keeps you always wanting to play more of it. For the X-box 360 and PS3 you must buy it in something called Orange Box which also contains Team Fortress 2 and Portal. The game has some very good weapons along with objects you can throw with the "gravity gun." A good story line and unique health system.

The bad
There is some cussing and a very scary chapter in the middle of the game called "We don't Go to Ravenholm." It is among the most scary parts of any game I have ever played, even Halo 3's Flood level at High Charity cannot even compare to the shocking and horrific scenes throughout this level. There is something called "head crabs," They look like fleshy oval shapes with four legs and their mouth is on their belly, they jump on there target's head and turns them into walking zombies. After they take control of humans, they eat flesh until they evolve into Black Head Crabs and then they become toxic. Throughout Ravenholm keep the sound down because of all the screams you hear. The level is hard and scary, the rest of the game though is very cool.

Conclusion
Very good game except for that part in the middle at Ravenholm.6/10
